After I cut my long hair off years ago, I can't remember how long it took me to stop going with my hands to tuck my non existant long hair behind my ears.

I'll still catch myself doing it all these years later.

I do exactly the same and I've had short hair for just over a year. My solution was growing it back but it always results in me getting annoyed, thinking 'If Sisko can pull off bald, so can I, damnit!' shaving my head and looking like Uncle Fester.

It took people a long time to get used to me with my short hair, even though I had only grown my hair out for about 9 months.
