Agreed on both. I'm still on unemployment, so I'm in okay shape, but I'd rather work for more money. The problem is getting a decent job that pays more than unemployment around here.

Even if you recalculated that to 20 hours part time, It'd still be less than the minimum wage ($8.50), which itself has been claimed to be below the so-called 'living wage'. Now, I'm not complaining. My point is that being on welfare is not even remotely close to being a free ride, and although there are some pretty sweet extra benefits I get, such as 100% free prescription drug coverage (though the public plan covers 80% minus deductible) and dental coverage (after a certain amount of time), obviously I'd rather be working and earning a decent wage.
