Picard: Status of the Enterprise?

I honestly don’t think a whole lot of casual Star Trek fans are clamoring to see the Enterprise-E again. If the producers of STP are smart, if they plan on showing the Enterprise, it’ll be a brand new design for them to market the hell out of. And hopefully not one designed by Eaves, but I’m not counting on that.
I really hope to see the E again, it was one of Trek's best designs! Most of Eaves's work is great though, so if he designs a new one, it'll probably be nice as well.

Yeah, just look at how the Enterprise finale turned out. I'm sorry, but Johnathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis looked way to different for that to have believably happened at the same time as The Pegasus. Suspension of disbelief will only so far before thing just get ridiculous.

Just one of the MANY ways in which that episode was a complete and total embarrassment. If only Frakes and Sirtis had a trifle more integrity enough to run the hell away from that thing.

Maybe the opening scene of this show will be the hobus incident shown from prime point of view - a nice twist would be the enterprise E getting destroyed in this scene? Would be a pretty explosive way to open the series and pave the way for the appearance of the F at a later date maybe.

Maybe the flashback will be Riker and Troi in command of the Enterprise-E when it gets destroyed by Hobus. Picard is there as overall commander of the armada and escapes in an escape pod but Riker and Troi go down with the ship.

An episode with Picard ordering “Abandon Ship” and Enterprise exploding? Been there done that ;)

I kind of like the idea of both Picard and Riker being retired. It sort of suggests that Starfleet service isn't the end-all of everything in their lives. But it could be that while Riker is happy in his life after Starfleet, Picard isn't.

Kind of like Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. At the beginning of "The Incredibles," Mr. INcredible states he would be OK with settling down and yet isn't. Elastigirl transitions to her role a bit more easily. It would be interesting to see Picard in a similar place, with Riker trying to help but maybe not fully in the same boat.

As long as Riker's house is full of weird chairs which he can straddle in bizarre ways, and has access to a trombone, I think he'll be just fine.

That would be deeply boring.
It depends on how they write it and what they do it with. Drama often comes from conflict. If Riker retired and is satisfied with his life, while Picard unsatisfied (for whatever reason) then you have the potential for conflict and drama.

It's all in execution. And, personally, it's better than Admiral Riker being an asshole.

Wasn't future Adm. Riker the way he was in "All Good Things" because Deanna had died?
