Picard series uniform revealed (close-ups)

Same here. I should probably purchase those Seaquest action figures soon to avoid cost going up.
Heh..
I have them all packed away in a box around here some where.
They're kinda cool.
(I worked part-time in a toy store from 1992-2005)

Picked up quite an assortment of Action Figure's during that time.
(also have the SEAQUEST DSV model around here somewhere still in the box)
:techman:

I have some but wanted to get more. Am tempted to get the model as well because I always liked the design :)
I miss good toy stores :(

Maybe they're actual officers, and it's Picard's perspective that Starfleet is made up of a buncha young whipper-snappers who need to get off his space lawn.

This is the first time I heard that there would be ANY actual, active Starfleet officers on the show...

I mean, Picard's obviously retired, and the other main characters don't seem like Starfleet types either.

Who knows how long it'll be before we actually set foot aboard a starship?

I mean, I thought it was all set in a vineyard.
Eaglemoss say they're doing Picard Show ships as a new/separate line. So one assumes they'll have a few for merch if nothing else.

Unless they're just making assumptions.

One of the other main characters is a pilot. Stands to reason a starsip will be involved pretty quickly, although probably not a Starfleet vessel.

Joke's on you. Its a sailing ship ;)

I see no problem with uniform's design or colors of Starfleet in Star Trek Picard. I only see problem with materials. It looks cheap and it looks like pyjama. They shoud use this kind of material from Enterprise crew in Star Trek Discovery. Looks good and quality.

Glad they didnt invent yet another totally new uniform that looks like nothing you've seen before. Tradition is important in uniformed services. Practical gear always shows the most up to date tech, but the service uniform reflects it's history, and should. The US Army is making another change, but this is to bring back the "pinks and greens" uniform of the 1890s to 1950s, particularly the WW2 variants. The blue recalled the uniform of the 19th century. Even changes reflect history. Wearing the Eisenhauer or Patton uniform is meaningful. Likewise, Id prefer future changes reflect that rather than a new production team reinventing as if it were day one.

IMHO, the new uniforms don't look like actual custom-built uniforms. The reason they look loose-fitting is because they appear to be off-the-shelf blazers and slacks that have been modified in the shoulder area.

My analyses listed earlier is that the odds of that scene having cadets and/or being the Academy (signs notwithstanding) are somewhere around 40%. Suggestive, but not conclusive.
Huh? Given that there are only two possibilities, 40% odds would suggest that it isn't the case. And even 40% is generous. Honestly, it seems like wishful thinking by people who want to see the FC-NEM style uniforms again, and the supposed evidence is trying to force square pegs into round holes. IIRC the same thing happened when we first saw Discovery's blue uniforms, from people who were wishing for TOS/Cage style.

We're squinting at photo artifacts and calling them Nemesis uniforms as if we're trying to spot UFOs. We have a bunch of out-of-focus extras in the background that you're calling "a prevalence of young adults", which cannot be discerned and even if it could wouldn't suggest cadets any stronger than it would junior officers.

The only in-uniform character we know anything about speaks officially in his one line, with nothing to suggest he is a student, and wears the circular rank insignia which has only ever appeared on cadets in "Valiant" where it's clearly presented as not normal. Jake is visibly confused that cadets are wearing officer insignia, and the "captain" claims he "commissioned" all the cadets on his own.

Of course a possibility exists that they're cadets, but if we're being honest, the default assumption at this point is that they're not.

60% of the time, it works every time.
