Picard and Guinan

Four pages out of context for a book when S&S provided the same thing themselves for free in the past should be completely legal as fair use in both the US and Germany, I'd imagine.

That was my reasoning as well, otherwise I wouldn't have posted the photos. :)

Thanks, I will print the pages as addition.

It will take some time until I will start into it. I'm still busy with the Seven Deadly Sins short stories.

I wonder if Guinan is really El Aurian at all or is just impersonating one. Q warned Picard about her and she seems to be able to protect herself from Q...
I don't really think we know enough about the El Aurians to doubt if Guinan is one.

I'm a Guinan fan and was slightly disappointed of her appearance in Indistinguishable from Magic. I liked Engines of Destiny and The Buried Age, though. We see Guinan only in rare occasions lately.

Can anyone jog my memory as to other Guinan appearances in the litverse? Except of the aforementioned Stargazer - Oblivion that is.

Today my Oblivion copy has arrived. I have discovered the printing error. Pages 72 and 74..........

Unfortunately there is no PDF download available. I guess I have to fill in the missing words by myself.

I have both PDF files - pages 195 & 197 and pages 72 & 74. PM and I can email if you'd like.

Thanks, but Defcon has already provided me with the missing pages, as you can see further up. :)

Re the printing error: I collect first editions, so this error always grated because it affects every copy in the first printing. I did download the free PDFs at the time but, at one point, the UK Star Trek magazine offered a free, randomly-packed, bagged Trek novel. I noticed "Oblivion" was one of the offerings and predicted that a remaindered book would not be the first edition. I was right! No errors!

Me, too! The last i read of her was that she was living on Romulus in the Novels. Hope she doesn't die there! Has she appeared somewhere else after?

Wasn't it in Indistinguishable From Magic? We can't take what happened in this novel at face value, though.

Where is Guinan now and what is she doing?

^I remember the discussions, but discounting the book completely is unnecessary. If you squint, then IFM is just fine and fits. DRG3 and Jeff Lang have both mentioned it in other publications. A good book like that shouldn't be thrown out completely because of some confusion about Geordi's love life, but we shouldn't get back into it really.Been there, done that :)

I liked Guinan's appearance in IFM. Overall IFM wasn't my cup of tea.
There are many ST novels I enjoyed, despite many people not liking them....;)
