New promotional featurette from CBS, featuring some lovely new clips and interviews.

Hmm. The replicator effect is, unfortunately, identical to Discovery's. I don't particularly care about this, but I find it odd that they would choose an effect that actually looks less futuristic than the one on TNG. The beam of light from the top makes it look more like a 3D printer—more contemporary, more primitive.

I got a another question about the episode that just occurred to me. Does the episode pay respects to Rene Auberjonois and Aaron Eisenberg now that they have passed?

I'm 100% certain the episode was filmed months before they passed.

IIRC Kurtzman said they'd try to work in a reference to "Captain Nog" in Picard at some point, but I'm guessing they'd have to wait until season 2 - or it will come very late in the season.

I think that would be a lovely touch. IMHO, it wouldn't take much. A bit of background dialogue, perhaps—an announcement, "Captain Nog, please report to Ops," as Picard walks down a hallway somewhere, for example—could easily be added even at this late junction.

I wasn't even thinking in terms of something within the episode. I was thinking of maybe one of those things like what happened were you mention the passed person like Roddenberry got before the episode I can't recall which episode it was now.

Beautiful featurette and trailers. Combined with the great spoilers I’ve been reading, i believe that this is going to be a good and worthy Trek series. I don’t have issues with the modernization of the technology shown, i would have issues with out of character developments of JL. This doesn’t seem to be the case...

Sorry, reposting this from another thread, but hoping someone here may see this and be able to help. If you look at the SDCC trailer, what is it we are seeing at the 0:30 mark? It's in a lot of the trailers, but I just can't make it out. A building? A column of colored smoke? Anyone figure it out?

I do like that They used the slow version of The Motion Picture Enterprise theme at the end of that video instead of the fast TNG version.

(and yes, that's my old-fart TOS love coming through)
:techman:

Yes, I love the closing notes there, though I prefer to think of it as just a rendition of the TNG fanfare better suited to the tone of this new show. :) I hope that this version, or something similar to it, is what we get at the end of the opening theme.

No title cards at the start or end for either man, but I’m sure they could do that last minute, if they needed to. My gut tells me we won’t get anything added at this point, though.

Interesting they did not interview Chabon for this, considering he was probably the most crucial person aside from Stewart. Maybe he's just busy doing other stuff right now.

Chabon has been at every premiere, and is doing all the press duties, just like the other cast and producers. He’s still involved heavily.

Wonderful promo. #decaf

I’m guessing they’ve shown the one liner I referenced a few pages back? :D

Why would you assume that just because it was something the crew of one Romulan mining vessel (the Narada) did in response to the catastrophe - that ALL surviving Romulans did the same? Also would any children of said survivors still do it?
Why would you assume that I assume? Just asking questions XD

Yeas, and I sure his kids are happy about that too.
Exactly. He regrets he didn't have much time for them cause he was working so much, so this is a way to make up for it as well.
