Photoshop guide to aliens?

I was just if there was anyone out there who knew how you would go about using Photoshop to make turn someone into a Trek alien, like a Klingon, Romulan/Vulcan, Cardassian etc using the tools of Photoshop. I've got version 5.5 and have thought of trying it out for a while but wouldn't know where to begin.

Rabbitooth does that very well...maybe you could get him to give you some advice? He's created some of my Cardassians, and they've come out VERY well.
