Wow, this is sad news. Capt. Phil was one of my favorites and the crew of the Cornelia Marie was my favorite as well. Thoughts and prayers with his family. I wonder who will take the helm of the Cornelia Marie full time now? Whomever it is, they will have large shoes to fill.

He was a lovable curmudgeon. It was hysterical how his boys could make his eyes bug out because they knew how to push his buttons. When Jake bought that huge television for what? $1200 and Phil was bitching that he knew why some animals eat their young I couldn't stop laughing. But he adored Jake and Josh all the same and you could tell.
