Phasers: Composite Relay VS Variable Phase Emiter

Plasmatic phase generation and refinement of frequency is basic concept to both deflector and phaser technology. Plasma allows for phase selections of varied frequency output from selective input, but is not quick to do so. Thus early concepts may be in composite relay of multiple micro emitters carring a single or few frequencies. The Variable phase emitter would be the Hightened technology of 23rd caliber, but you would have gaps in the beam. Composite has to be angled, but should rondevous at the target if calculated correct. It is the difference between artillery and point and shoot. Why phase pistol made it before phase cannons is beyond me? The large scale method of phase refinement would be easier than micro or nano production of technology. The power generation required maybe the reason, and phase canons required power from a warp five starships impulse engines. Thoughts?

I would suggest that there is plasmatic reconstitute of frequencies used for the beam in a selection of frequencies that work best together to achieve desired affect. this includes how long each is oscillated and with some measure of repeat.
