Phase II Constitution Class

Speaking for myself, I would love to get a copy of that mesh. I've always been fascinated by thoughts of where Trek might have gone if Phase II had actually been made.

Unfortunately, I work in Lightwave, which has a devil of a time importing 3D Studio Max files (but interestingly, ports in original .3ds files just fine). Still, if you ever decide to post it somewhere, please let us know.

@Rattrap:
I guess I could export the model as a .3ds file without losing much of the details because most of them are actualy (and very amaturly) modeled. You just would have to create new basic textures for the hull, lights etc...Get back at me, when I'm realy finished with her, okay?

@Cary L. Brown:
To be honest, the docking port was just a whole in the pictures. Good news is that I actualy modeled them yesterday^^ As you can see on the first picture I also redid the registry.

Since I had the ports already finished I added them to the bottom side of the saucer, too. (btw: I'm aware of the mesherror on the bottom side of the saucer. It will be fixed..Thursday...)

I'd like to use the opportunity of the attention to ask if any of you guys has some more pictures or graphics of the Phase II drydock and space office (I got those from the book) that you might share with me.

Quoted.

Hm, I honestly don't see how this should be better:

Hmm... when I did my schematic views of the 'Tikopai', I had the lettering a bit smaller, and with a 'USS Enterprise' in still smaller text, but the placement is about right. I just wanted to see how that mod would look 'really'.

It IS a purely aesthetic choice, though, but I admit that the huge NCC-1701 under the pennant (rather than a part of it) was also a 'turn-off' for me, design-wise.

With the exception of the aforementioned too-dark deflector dish, this is an excellent set of renders and a gorgeous model. :thumbsup:

i kinda like the dark deflector in a way.

i think a very dim, light electric blue backlight might just give the entire mesh a more finished look though.

Aren't the twin "radiator grille" marks on the front of the nacelle a feature of Richard Taylor's art deco refit nacelles only? They feel really out of place on this.

Or perhaps add a small amount of blue fill with high falloff to the deflector dish only...evoke the TMP refit a little and let us see some detail in that area. Something like this.

True, they weren't intended to be there, but I added them because the front of the nacelles looked to blank without them. The TOS-connie had her bussard collectors, the TMP had the grills,but the PII had nothing...it looked incomplete without them.

I've been working on the drydock, as far as I could without that many references. Here's what I got so far:

Note that the lighting is still somewhat a work in progress, so please be nice. ;)

I didn't say this when when I quoted your original pics, but, to quote Christopher Walken as The Continental: Wow! Wowie wow wow wow!
