Petition: Seven of Nine Spinoff

In a TNG show Q got mad at Beverley for for something she said to him.He turned Beverley Crusher into a Irish setter. Sorry I can't remember which season it was.

Q and Beverly were arguing about the girl Q. He turned her into a dog for 3 seconds, and she didn’t even realize it. That’s hardly evidence of being jealous of her and Picard’s relationship. Considering he could have just killed her like he froze that unfortunate ensign in Encounter at Farpoint.

Perhaps this is Beverley’s ultimate fate? 39F80464-6173-4F94-A10C-7AC16DF89A87.jpeg

It could be like Star Trek: The Next Generation episode 05x25 ‘The Inner Light’. On screen it may seem that Beverley was a dog for only ‘3 seconds’ but perhaps Q punished her by forcing her to live a whole lifetime as Captain Janeway’s dog, all the way from being a puppy to adulthood - maybe 10-12 years. We see Beverley as she is returned to the Enterprise as a full grown dog, moments after it sadly dies in Janeway’s arms. Q then ends the punishment by returning Beverley to her true form back on the Enterprise. I am assuming that Crusher dog was reunited with Janeway when Voyager finally got home. All the evidence is there…

I doubt that we would find the answer to this in a Seven of Nine spin-off but Picard might touch upon it. If not, it would certainly make for a cute ‘Short Trek’. It could be animated.

Ah, I see. This is some strange usage of the word ‘evidence’ that I’ve never heard of before.

Dubious subject matter aside, I think Short Treks are done for the foreseeable future.

Ok, maybe not evidence… let’s call them ‘loose links’.
  • Both dogs look to be of the same breed
  • Q was involved in *both* episodes where this dog made an appearance.
  • Janeway’s dog has also made cameo appearances in photographs, and it looks *remarkably* like Beverley dog from ‘True Q’.
All it would take is some confirmation in the series to ‘connect the dots’. We could hear the dog’s thoughts through a narration via Gates McFadden, Janeway could of course be voiced by Kate Mulgrew and they can cast a random voice actor for her fiancée Mark… someone like Tom Hanks *should* be able to pull it off as he was good in ‘Garfield’ and is a known Star Trek fan so should except a discounted pay rate for the voice acting role.

I stand by my statement.

Ok well I can live without this ‘mini episode’, it was just an idea. But just as long as they make a Seven of Nine spin-off instead, I think that that it would be a good trade off. :bolian:
