The thought of Alzheimer's--of Falk watching 'Colombo' reruns and possibly wondering who that man on TV is--staggering.

This is so sad. My grandfather passed away last year from complications arising from Alzheimer's. It's a slow, terribly sad way to go that I don't wish on anyone or their family. My prayers are with his family. They have a difficult road ahead.

That's a shame. I know very little about him personally, but it's impossible not to watch Columbo or The Princess Bride and feel a surge of affection for the man.

Hopefully the Obama administration will lift bans on stem cell research and this cruel condition can be cured or at least halted.

I'm sorry to hear that. Both my grandpa and grandma have Alzheimer's now. It's a terrible disease for both the sufferer and their families to have to deal with. Best wishes to him and his family.

I love Peter Falk and I love Columbo. In fact, I just recently finished catching up on all the DVDs that have been released so far, and I'm looking forward to February when the next set comes out.

I wish him a peaceful and dignified finale.

I ws just thinking earlier that I want to rewatch "A Pocket Full of Miricales" this season, it's where he got his hat and coat.

Mom has A, don't know how my sister deals with it (I'm too far away to do anything)
Mom at least had enough awareness to get herself into a home and sign the stuff over to sis. Really glad we didn't have to go the court route.
