Peri vs Mel

Okay, to follow up on my Tegan vs Nyssa poll, I've decided to propose a new one: Who was best out of Peri Brown (Nicola Bryant) or Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford), companions of the Sixth Doctor? Honestly, I'm going to have to go with the luscious Peri all the way.

They were both companions at the time when I wasn't watching Who. I can't say that I have even watched an episode with Mel. Peri, on the other hand, I've seen a little of an disliked immensely.

I voted for Peri, based on the fact that onscreen she's marginally more developed and less annoying than Mel, and is actually pretty effective in one story ("Caves of Androzani"). Factor in the audios, where Mel gets much better and Peri is, if anything, worse, and my answer might be different.
