Peeple - Useful new app to help cyberbullies harrass others.

It's a horrible idea and from all the reaction to it I've seen online today, most people seem to agree.

Once we connect it to smart glasses or smart contacts we can live in a Black Mirror episode or that one episode of Community where they become a wacky scifi future over the weekend.

A bubbly, no-holds-barred “trendy lady” with a marketing degree and two recruiting companies, Cordray sees no reason you wouldn’t want to “showcase your character” online.

Oh, she's going to find out rather quickly what happens when you let people rate other people, and not allow the ability to remove those ratings. I can already imagine what her page will look like in short order. Sorry Ms. Cordray, you can't opt-out of the mass judgment.

I think my first rating will be "Lacks foresight in understanding human nature."

It says that you have to have the person's cell phone number in order to post a review about them, and confirm that you personally know them (I don't know how they would verify that). So chances are, public figures won't suddenly receive millions of positive or negative reviews.

They can't verify it. It's like those porn sites that ask if you're 18; Any idiot can punch in a fake birth date, and you're in like Flynn.

I'm very sure that she'll be able to edit her page as she sees fit. Well... until she sells the company to Facebook, Google or Microsoft.

Oh most certainly. She'd be a fool to not have that ability on her own page. She won't extend that courtesy to everyone else, but for herself I imagine she would edit the ratings.

I know I'm a douche. The people who know and love me, know I'm a douche. I don't need an app to tell me I'm a douche on top of that.

The problem, of course, is the people who don't know you, but could be potential employers, customers, neighbors, etc.

When people see me, they know I'm a douche. While this app may be problematic for others, I wear who I am openly. :techman:

*logs into Peeple app*

BillJ is such a douche! He eats with his mouth open, snorts while he laughs, and wipes boogers on the theater seats. Also believes Captain Janeway is the superior Captain.

Also, I'm pretty sure he robbed a liquor store, and punched a girl scout while he was using puppies as nunchaku.

1 out of 5 stars. Will not date again.

It was a very complex plan involving calling your wife and pretending I was from Good Housekeeping, and we were doing a national survey on husband douchiness. No one suspects my little old lady voice. It's impeccable. It's also how I got a date with Prince Charles back in aught 6.
