Paul Greengrass & Matt Damon to return for another "Bourne"

True, but I like Jackson's idea and hopefully Universal develops the same line of thinking.

What's the point if it's not based on a book by the original author?

You've lost me - the films are only very loosely based on the books to start with? Unless there was a sequence where Carlos the Jackel appeared and I missed it.

The only thing the same with the books and the movies are the name.

I don't see the point. It's too little too late. They made that weird last one, we don't need this.

I say we forget Legacy was ever made, just have Boure wake up and go "That was a horrible dream!"
From the sounds of it, Universal wants to do a second Legacy before a team-up movie.

I am starting to wonder just where the series can go, narrative-wise. The existence of government assassins seems pretty played out by now, not to mention in-universe public knowledge thanks to Pam Landy's leaks. What next? More chemically-enhanced agents? Seems like a big yawn when you've got Cap and Bucky already running around in screening rooms next door...

Where they could go is with Bourne's family - if he had one before getting into the program and being amnesiac. That would kind of echo the books (in which Marie survives and they have kids, who are threatened in the sequels).

Possible titles?
