Thanks for some great movies.
sigh. More and more of my favorite actors are dying off. Patrick of course way to early. I first saw him in North and South. He had a few good movies but as mentioned already he made a decision not to appear in big films anymore. Which you have to respect, family meant more to him than chasing constant fame.

He was one of my mom's favorite actors (she loves Dirty Dancing and Ghost).
I love Ghost. Oh, boy, is that movie going to get really bittersweet now. I already sob at the end. That last scene is one of my absolute favorite film scenes of all time.

Many years ago his brother Don appeared on a talk show featuring brothers of famous celebrities. Don said that Patrick was actually a much better dancer than we saw in Dirty Dancing. The character of Johnny Castle was very talented, but he wasn't a professional.
I remember the scene in which Johnny tells Baby that no one had ever gone out on a limb for him like that before.

This is an odd but fitting tribute. 
He was older than I thought, I wouldn't have thought he was 32 in Red Dawn, but still sucks to see anyone go.
^ Yeah, he didn't look like someone who was almost 60.
Yeah, it's gotten so that every time I switch on the MSN homepage I expect to see nothing but a death notice in the big box anymore.

He seemed like a pretty cool guy. Too bad. Pancreatic cancer sucks the pipe.
I was born a bit too late to have seen the movies from Swayze's prime when they came out, but I've since seen several, and you can see why he was famous. RIP.
