Patrick McGoohan: Dead

and just as "The Prisoner" was entering the public consciousness again with the remake

Damn - what is today? Ricardo Moultaban has also died. Two big names in 24 hours :(

No number now, 'cause it's up.

I always thoguht he was a tremendously underrated and appreciated actor. I remember beign surprised to see him in "Braveheart", and loved him in that one episode of "Columbo".

I am also a loving fan of "The Prisoner"; if you havent' seen it -- go rent or buy it. It's a cult TV series from the late 60's, with only 17 episodes (so it's not a lot to buy!). I couldn't get enough of that how and bout the DVD box years back. The obsession eventually led me to write a fan fction which was published in TP magazine, The Penny Farthing. To this day they keep my story up there on their magazine's website, with some others.

It's a shame his last credit was a voice in some crummy animated film.

Some of you may know him as Danger Man, but to me his will always be Number 6.

First Ricardo Montalban & now Patrick McGoohan.

Patrick McGoohan's death is really a sad huge loss.

The PRISONER was 1 of Sci-Fi's best TV series, hands down. That & his excellent COLUMBO work.

Really a shame.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other...

But Number Six will always be Number One in my book.

Rest easy...

Darn darn darn.
I loved McGoohan in The Prisoner. I always hoped for a Bond/Prisoner crossover film.
I shall have to watch the series again in memorium.

I'm watching "Fall Out" right now. I don't think any one performer comes as close to shaping who I am as a person, aside from maybe Lance Henriksen, as Patrick McGoohan.

I am deeply, deeply saddened today.

Has anybody ever seen online or been able to read a copy of McGoohan's feature film script for Prisoners, the feature-film sequel to The Prisoner that took place 100 years later? Reading that right now might help me cope...

Very sad news I am gutted.
I watch The Prisoner quite often it is one of those shows I can just sit down and relax and enjoy. I am not sure the remake will live up to the origonal, how could it.
You know there are very few actors left from the series and now we lose the man who made it all happen.
I will certaily take a look at the script refered to above any chance of a link?
Another thing I love about the series is the stock music they used which was taken from Warner's vast archive well worth getting on CD or download.
Oh, if you are in London check out his house at 1 Buckingham place which is just aroun the corner from New Scotland Yard
Be seeing you in heaven....

I don't like to think that he's died, I prefer to believe that he's finally managed to escape. They might remake The Prisoner, but there will only ever be one Number Six- a truly class act.

Oh my gosh, Greg Cox I knew there were so many older shows I'd seen him in...and Scarecrow was one of my all time favorites, not to mention "The Three Lives of Thomasina."

Disney had all the best working for him in the old days.

Thanks for the memories, now I'm even sadder. :(:(
