Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog movie

The franchise died the moment Lost World was made to shit all over Generations. Boom was just...all the fucking hell no there is.

This movie? can they just stop already.

I'm a huge Sonic fan going all the way back to the original Sega Genesis games, so I love the idea of a Sonic movie. I'm trying really hard to be optimistic about this one.

Anyone here ever read the Fleetway UK comics? I enjoyed the Sonic stories in those.

I used to love the Fleetway comics back in the day, and the old cartoon series too. I was massively into Sonic on the Mega Drive, but I couldn't get into it again despite trying Sonic Adventure and Sonic the Hedgehog. I thought they were dodgy and didn't bother again until Generations, which made me nostalgic.

Why a film though? Meh.

Just a few (Dang. Sonic seems to be a real dick there). I have to catch up. But I read the Archie comics.
I never read the Archie comics. Sonic was a dick in all kinds of media I thought.
Why I liked the fleetway comics was because it took bits of Terminator into the story and built up large arcs throughout the issues. Some of the art from the earlier comics is pretty dire but it gets a lot better later.

Yeah. 90s Sonic always had a lot of attitude. Sonic in Fleetway just seems to be far more... mean.

I heard that it had some good storys later on. As I said before, I still have to catch up a lot.

I used to have the complete collection, I still have an original first issue but it's not in great shape. Towards the end it was getting pretty bad, only kept buying it as a Amy/Tekno shipper thing, the Sonic stories were shorter and less entertaining.

I gave up on it somewhere near the end too I think, for similar reasons. I think one of the last issues I read was Robotnik revealing a Knuckles Badnik similar to Metallix.

That was about 4-5 arcs before the end, which was Super Sonic's redemption and separation from Sonic before the adaptation of Choas from Sonic Adventure. They ended the comics with a handover to the 3D generation.

Woah, I missed a lot. I thought the comic was cancelled near the end and they couldn't wrap up lots of stuff.

Following his departure from the Deadpool sequel, Tim Miller has signed on to executive produce the Sonic the Hedgehog movie at Sony Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller and his Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler will develop the project, on which Fowler will make his feature directorial debut.

“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts. The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for him to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character,” said Miller.
