Oh wow. He's the guy who was kicked off of ST'09 for "being too close to old Trek" (so the story goes) after giving Abrams a size comparison chart of the new Enterprise among all the old ones... which meant nothing to Abrams. He wanted it next to landmarks a non-Trekkie could relate to.
It's very, very, very obvious that TPTB at CBS/Paramount hate Star Trek. Look at how many times they cancelled

And the guy who has blasted everything done without him........Maybe if they hired RMB he would automatically LOVE new Trek too!
Doug Drexler is a great guy who is an avid Trek fan and who shared many intricate details about his work on the show through his blog, which was a labor of love and was under no obligation to share with the fans. I’m not sure how this topic mutated into Drexler-bashing, since it has nothing to do with McNamara leaving Paramount+.

No one has doubted his love for Trek or his talent. Telling the truth isn't bashing is it?

No, it's not. CBS foots the bill on their own and produces the shows for CBS AA/Paramount+, Netflix and amazon have zero involvement with production or financing. Licensing the show for streaming in international markets is not co-financing. That's simply doing what a studio always does when they sell a series abroad.
I heard the greenlit a new Trek series just so they could cancel it
I bought that chair in the 2006 auction. It was from a touring set.
The original was auctioned but not by the studio - someone took it from the dumpster first.
Facts are not bashing. Many of the old guard who were left out of the new productions have been bitter, which I can understand and would be too. I however wouldn't do it publically.
John Eaves saying he heard from someone that one executive really hates Star Trek is hearsay, Doug Drexler stating his opinion on Star Trek or anything else is not hearsay. The difference is obvious.
Doug Drexler grew up with Star Trek. He has an opinion on the new direction Star Trek took. How does that mean he is bitter that he was left out of future productions?

That's fine..........he can grow up and love it and still be bitter. I stated earlier I would be bitter as well. I would not be bitter publically. There isn't anything wrong in being miffed at being excluded in something that was your joy for many years. I just wonder now was it his opinion or hurt feelings that were speaking about NuTrek. Trying to speak down about everyone involved and then going to work for them just seems odd. I see a lot of it, not just Doug. I love his work on various productions, professional and fan films alike. I just don't think some folks are as diplomatic as they should be. That's my opinion.
