Cannibals? I don't recall them eating their own species. But even if they did, the Klingon warrior tradition of feasting on the hearts of one's slain foes must have started back in the days before the Klingons went out into space and encountered other sentient lifeforms.

Lets be honest, what you describe above is likely what "real" Klingons would be like, as much as we don't want it to be. We're simply use to the Rated PG Klingons.

Find it realistic? It isn't on me. It is simple psychology regarding abuse and abuse victims, including sexual assault.

Backlash may not be unwarranted, but that doesn't make it unrealistic. That just makes it uncomfortable.
