Parallel stories in season 2

So check out STD's SDCC panel, towards the end.

Apparently the reason they are continuing the L'Rell/Tyler storyline is they want to explore Sexual Abuse, male rape, and female empowerment.... Specifically, the "reversal" of how sexual abuse is normally portrayed.

Apparently making L'Rell the abuser is female empowerment and Tyler is still in love with his abuser. It sounds like they have a significant recurring role this season....

So....yeah :/ It's possible the way the S2 trailer was cut was a misdirect designed to lure in fans of traditional Trek.

I don't think you understood that at all.

Sonequa and Mary praising L'Rell as a strong/inspiring female character. Tyler still having feelings for L'Rell and going off with her at the end of S1.

Heck, I'm amused this all came from a fanwoman's question, and that person loves the L'Rell/Tyler romance...... yikes.

Let's just say I'm over these emo Edgelord 'Klingons.' Shame Akiva Goldsman didn't take them over to DC's Titans where they'd fit better.

Weren't some of the production crew intimating on Twitter that this season it will be explained why none of the DIS season 1 Klingons looked like those in previous series?

Certainly if a big subplot takes place on Qonos we should find out pretty quickly if the "augments" are banging around.

Yeah, that sounds like the kind of thing that will explode this forum :D

If it happens, I look forward to some people 180ing from "no explanation is needed for a visual reboot" to "it was shown onscreen, therefore it's canon."

I bet they try to reverse the species reassignment surgery on Tyler by injecting a Klingon mutagen into his bloodstream with the idea that it would stimulate the remnant Klingon DNA and mutate him back to Disco Klingon form... but it only takes him halfway he now appears as a cross between a human and Disco Klingon (a.k.a. classic Klingons). :) I'm only 79% joking. I wouldn't be shocked at all if something like that happens.

But as far as the duel storylines go, I'm not opposed to the concept. There certainly are many examples of good TV shows that do that sort of thing. As long as they're not a garbled up as Westworld.

Will that mean he has 1 and a half of everything?

If you find that subject matter "more interesting" than the past portrayal of Klingons in the franchise..... LOL

Whatever floats your boat.
