Apparently they also still use mechanical typewriters with monospaced fonts -- and they still have trouble with spelling!
(To be fair, whoever typed that up got only one letter wrong in "Aldebaran.")
I'm a big fan of monospaced type faces. I haven't typed on an actual typewriter since the mid 90's, and yet, my default font on my word processor is Courier New. I prefer reading monospaced lettering. Maybe it will be popular in the 23rd century.
For that matter, most of the computer readouts in the 24th Century shows are also monospaced.
