PACIFIC 201 - A Star Trek Film

I live in Michigan and would love to come onboard and help, I was on Phase II for 2 shoots. And im a film student and propmaker. Great work you are doing here :)

Cool! I have lots of friends in Michigan. Though it's a little far! I'd love to see the sorts of stuff you've done - both with film and props.

You guys would be worth the drive :), I already go to lancaster every year for an antique telephone show.

The ship looks great.
I really like to blue light on the nacelle's and behind the deflector. :techman:
Glad you like it! I kind of wanted to give the glowing bits a "unified" feel by making them all blue, with no orange/red glowing bulbs on the nacelle caps.

Ah yeah, Lancaster isn't too far from me. (There's actually a possibility that the sets will be built in Lancaster)

And now for something new!
Here's a little something fun to look at:
A preliminary render of the Pacific going to warp speed!

Nice work! She's looking lovely. :)

I notice the shuttles are not in place there, Is that to cut down on the render time?

The real reason is because I haven't really finished the underside of the shuttles. Once they're done, they'll become a more regular addition to the renders. When they're docked, we'll only see the very bottom, so they don't really affect render time in a noticeable way.

Finally becoming confident enough to show off the command module of the Pacific.

The command module consists of an upper deck and a lower deck.
Deck 1 (known as the bridge) houses the command center and the communication and sensor departments, as well as some other facilities such as a small briefing room and equipment lockers for EV suits and phasers.

Deck 2 houses phaser fire control, administrative operations, defense and screen control, and observation galleries for manual spotting.

The command module has its own defensive screen emitter system that can run for a period of time
on its own batteries, ensuring the module's protection in case of a general power loss.

Does that inscription mean To Infinity and Beyond?

(I know... more like To Space via the Sea or something like that right?)

Pretty!

Hahaha
Yeah, I typically translate it "To the Stars by way of the Sea".
It's supposed to reflect the naval tradition of Starfleet, as well as the distinctly nautical features (and name) of the Pacific.

Something else new!
Here's a concept of the Pacific's dedication plaque!

Good start.

I suggest un-scrunching the text. You've got too little leading between some of the lines, too many font sizes, and a distracting mix of all uppercase for 4 lines and then 2 of mixed case. I think only the motto should be mixed case.

I'd suggest nudging the elements up and down until you find something which balances nicely.

All good suggestions.
I was a little too concerned with left-right alignments, and I seem to have ignored the vertical spacing.

Our phaser prop has been printed, thanks to "Star Trek: Horizon" producer Tommy Kraft.

Now awaiting paint and finishing touches, here's the raw print:

We will have both stun and kill settings, as well as some other uses - like cutting bulkheads and stuff like that.

I'm sure some might get bored of constantly seeing new renders of the ship, rather than fresh, new media. But I'm pretty excited to say that the ship is almost entirely done, and I can start focusing on other things - like the NPC-19 Interceptor ship from the Romulan War era!

At any rate, here's the ol' 201 flying through a gaseous anomaly (something very, very important to the plot of the film)
