OWW! (or WTF have I done to my back?)

Maybe you just slept awkwardly? I do that all the time and sometimes it can be pretty painful. One time I went to sleep resting on my arm, and when I woke up, I couldn't turn my wrist without my whole arm "burning up" (that's what it felt like), and it took a couple of days before it got any better. Of course if it's muscle pain it could easily just be the flu.
I think that is it, I think I slept awkward then jarred it or trapped a nerve when I was startled awake.
One things for sure it's certainly not the muscular ache that comes with flu, it's far too painful for that.

If it is sciatica it's a bugger. My family are plagued with it (but not me for some reason*). I feel for you Bob.

*they don't look like me either, what were the chances? :D

My mam, dad and brother are all plagued by back problems, my sister gets them just less often, and apparently when they were queuing for defects I just stopped in everyone.

You obviously got the strong genes, everyone else got the puny ones.

Do you feel a sort of dull aching tug on your left testicle?

Your pain sounds exactly like what I had a few weeks ago, except every time I felt the pain in my back it also felt like I was getting a steel-toe to my left nut.

Not until now, but I'm sure I'll be imagining that from now on.

Bob, you're hardcore.

Seriously, hope you feel better soon! :techman:
That should have been mg btw, 2 tablets, not injecting myself with morphine

Actually, I thought you must have meant the Oramorph solution (at the standard strength the concentration is such that 20ml = 40mg, hence the hardcore comment! :D)
Nah, horrible stfuff that is :lol Had it a few times when they did my appendix, not exactly the first liquid you want in your mouth after 2 days nil by mouth

I was trying to imagine 20ml and thinking that's like two big syringe fulls :wtf::eek:

I hope you're feeling better today :)
Oh and off, eased enough for me to get a few hours sleep earlier, now it's bad again. Got a hot water bottle pressed to it right now. Not really helping much either.
I guess my body just doesn't like me

I rang the out of hours GP last night... She told me I should take paracetamol, despite the fact morphine and paracetamol hasn't been helping.
She also said it could just be flu-y ache, sciatica, or side effects of the Tamiflu.

So I'm just waiting for the nurse specialists in Royal Hallamshire to get there and I'm going to ask for their advice.

Ah, the Hallamshire. Nice people, very friendly department. Say "hi" to the folks from me if you ever meet them. :bolian:

Can you take brufen without it making you sick? I know it sounds like taking smarties but honestly if it is flu related then taking some paracetamol and then a couple of brufen an hour or so later really works wonders on flu aches and pains (provided the combination doesn't make you puke).

Nope, because of the pulmonary hypertension medicaion I'm not allowed to have NSAIDs. Which is a bastard cos I've always found them to be more affective than analgesics.
