Overused Internet Comments

Did we get into all of the childhood raping that apparently occurs? Especially when followed by something stupid and trivial?
It seems like the only time I see the "raping my childhood" comment is in this situation:
Poster A said:
I didn't like the new version.

Poster B said:
Quit complaining about your childhood being raped.

I don't know if I've ever seen it used like:
Poster A said:
The new version was so bad it raped my childhood.
at least not seriously.

Yeah, you should probably check out the Internet, because it's VERY common, and almost ALWAYS used in the "That remake/movie/writer raped my childhood" context. Like Han shooting first

You obviously haven't worked your way through the TrekXI forum here, then.
Or any ant-SW prequel forum, anti-new BSG forum...

Yep, pick one. Any remake/reboot/delayed sequel to anything, bet you a dollar you can find it somewhere :)

"creator / writer intent" usually used in "canon fights" (another that got old fast). Most often used when someone is losing said fight; used by either side.

Example

Poster 1: "Well if canon is <insert referenced franchises canon rules>, then whatever <insert writer/creator> intended doesn't matter".

Poster 2: "Yes it does, YES IT DOES! They the <insert writer/creator>, whatever they say is canon, they can break their own rules!"

Oh, btw: it's an old 4chan meme ;)

Isn't everything on the internet originally from 4chan?

STR's #1 Rule of the internet: Don't go on 4chan. Don't interact with people that go on 4chan. Finally, for the love of God, do NOT piss off 4chan.

Indeed.

It's not so much the idea of the roll-eyes emoticon I have a problem with, but the constant abuse of it.

I would like to add "That's not canon." to the list.
Noooo, canon is vital.

I'm pretty sure I've only seen it used the second way, as an attempt to proactively trivialize any disagreement when actual arguments are lacking. Is it really used the first way?

Proud to be able to say: "What the fuck is 4chan?"

You recall hearing when [insert celebrity] was hacked on [insert website]? That was 4chan.

Notable recent inserts (repectively)
Sarah Palin's account, Yahoo Email
Justin Beiber, YouTube so that all videos of him were redirected to porn
Justin Beiber, Twitter, announcing a tour of North Korea (my personal favorite)

Just because you don't know the name, doesn't mean you have seen the damage. In the last week they've launched DDoS attack on the MPAA and RIAA. The former still hasn't recovered.
