Overlooked Episodes

I really enjoy "Field of Fire!" I'm a big fan of Ezri Dax (apparently we are in the minority).

"Voyager's" "Juggernaught" is an episode I thought was dumb as a kid, but have come to really appreciate as an adult, because of how it deals with anger.

I know I am in the minority, but "MOVE ALONG HOME" is a really good episode.

It showcases how technologically advanced the Gamma Quadrant races are, it has superb character moments of Quark, and a really awesome concept. (Seriously, who doesn't want to be inside a favorite board/video game at least once?)

I can go on with some more reasons, but those are some of the biggest as to why this episode deserves far more respect than it gets

Another episode I think doesn't get mentioned much is "Frame of Mind". It's a great concept, and well executed. You have to give Jonathan Frakes a lot of credit and respect for being the kind of actor who throws himself COMPLETELY into something. This episode really showcases this aspect of the actor. And Brannon Braga... he had some flaws, but a lack of imagination and high concept stories is NOT among them.

TNG's "Schisms" is underrated. It's so creepy it could almost be an episode of The Twilight Zone.

"Progress" from DS9 season 1 is also quite good. When I first watched it I was genuinely surprised by the episode's ending. Plus Jake and Nog's wheeling-and-dealing in the B-story are a lot of fun and really the first time that we see Nog as something more than a typical annoying Ferengi.

I don't think "THE GALILEO SEVEN" is talked about much. It's always been a personal favorite, even as a boy first watching the series on tape from Blockbuster (later recording on my own vcr) or on late Saturday night rerun. Spock really trying to be logical about everything and it just backfiring almost every time... the conflict with Boma... Spock's last, desperate act that worked. It was a win from beginning to end.

"MELD" is one I don't hear about. It's a fantastic look at the nature of violence, and perfect casting of Brad Dourif.

"MINEFIELD" is a great look at Reed's character, and had a lot of rising tension through the entire episode.

"Dead Stop" on Enterprise is a good one I don't see mentioned much. Kudos to Roxann Dawson for giving the creepy space station its voice.

"Shadowplay" on DS9 is another gem, both for it's heartwarming main story and its strong B and C plots as well.

Right next to it is "Paradise", or Sisko vs. Green Cult Leader. Particularly unforgettable is the scene where Sisko, still in his uniform, staggers out of the cabin and step by agonizing step reinserts himself into the hot box.

I've been doing a rewatch of DS9 and there's quite a few overlooked episodes from that series: The Darkness and the Light, The Begotten, Business as Usual, The Quickening.

TNG “The Defector” is one of my favorites In the franchise and doesn’t seem to get mentioned very much

I think it's a TNG Top 10. Certainly Top 5 of the first half of the series.

Another episode I think doesn't get mentioned much is "Frame of Mind". It's a great concept, and well executed.

A mystery plot that holds up to repeated viewings is always an accomplishment. Good choice.

TNG's "Schisms" is underrated. It's so creepy it could almost be an episode of The Twilight Zone.

This, along with "Where Silence Has Lease" and ENT's "Impulse" are the three best Trek tone/atmosphere episodes Trek has done.

"Dead Stop" on Enterprise is a good one I don't see mentioned much.

Solid entry. Another good tone episode. Doesn't rise to the level of the three above, but it does a great job at keeping the viewer off-center and slightly ajar.

“The Royale”

This and "The Neutral Zone" are my two favorite TNG guilty pleasures.

"Masks" is a bizarre but awesome episode.
