Do you guys think Spock ever told his mother that he had a significant other?

I mean his mum was the closet person to him and he valued her opinions a lot. If spock had a romantic relationship with someone am sure he would have at least introduced her to his mother.... right?

It would depend on if he had been able to speak to his mother, since he was not on speaking terms with his father he may not have been able to speak to her either (this appeared to have been the case during TOS).

She seemed shocked to see him but then they probably didnt know Starfleet had arrived and if they did they may have only known of the fleets destruction and not the arrival of the Enterprise.

Hard to say. He was away at the Academy after all, and the relationship was relatively under wraps. I don't recall keeping my mom informed on my dating life in college . . . .

Especially when you're the teacher and she was a student...

Interesting question. I can certainly see Amanda asking Spock, every now and then, if there is 'someone' in his life. That being said, I'm not sure how nuSpock would answer.

I'm sure Spock's parents would not have objected. In the Abramsverse, Spock and Sarek didn't have that much of a rift (not like in the prime 'verse). And Amanda would definitely have approved. So I'm sure if Spock ever discussed Uhura with his parents, they wouldn't have a problem with her.

I think nuSpock told Amanda about Uhura but did those two ever meet? Probably not considering nuSpock was busy teaching at the Academy and Uhura was busy being a student. I'm not sure if Starfleet has stuff like holiday and summer breaks.

I'm not so sure Sarek knew, though, although if anyone would understand the conflict emotionally of being in love in general and in love with a human, it would be Sarek. Sarek finally tells nuSpock after Vulcan is destoryed and Amanda is killed that he did indeed love Amanda and their marriage wasn't about some political-sociological experiment that he had indicated in nuSpock's childhood. I think after that, nuSpock more than likely told Sarek about Uhura. I think that's why they get a bit more brazen about it when nuKirk and nuSpock are about to leave to retrieve Pike.
