Thanks,
Krenn, and congrats yourself. For those who don't know,
Krenn is John Goodrich, author of "The Patriot", lucky thirteen in the above list. Wonder how many other writers on this project frequent TrekLit.
Here is the TOC of the first volume, which I will post because not only are Trent and I in the same volume, but his story is right before mine.
The juxaposition should make for an interesting contrast; my story tends towards the bleak, and I'm sure readers will appreciate something funny afterwards.
I was pretty thrilled when I saw
Kevin's name on the e-mails for the books. This makes
Kevin the second SNW alum I've shared a TOC with (that I know of), after appearing alongside Brett Hudgins ("Fabrications", SNW VI; "Guardians", SNW VII) in the anthologies
Twisted Cat Tales and the forthcoming
Strange Stories of Sand and Sea. Always an ego-boost to see my name in print with Trek writers.
And, while I'm pimping
Cthulhu Unbound in this forum, I'd be remiss not to give a shout-out to
Christopher: it was reading about the Manraloth's statis field, and your able explanation of the underlying physics for us non-physicist folk, in
The Buried Age that inspired me to create weapons based on quantum indeterminacy for "The Invasion out of Time". Like they say, if you're going to steal...
Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
