Given that R. S. Belcher took the Grand Prize in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds competition several years back with his story "Orphans," I hope it's not too inappropriate to brag that his first original novel (coming in January) just got a starred review in Publishers Weekly:
"Against the backdrop of Chinese and Mormon mythology and the Civil War, with bit of Frankenstein for color, the mix of theology, frontier justice, and zombies is merely cover for an intense and irreverent exploration of good, evil, and free will."
I acquired and edited this book for Tor, so I'm excited to see it already getting some positive attention. Yay, Rod!
