Oscar for the Shat and the Nim.

Would you like to see them get two?

What sort of film should it be for? Playing older characters? Gritty, heartwarming, tearjerking, romance? CGI cameo from De and Jimmy? Swansong?

There are a lot of good actors on Trek, but the only one who's good enough to be a likely Oscar candidate is Patrick Stewart.

I thought Shat was good, in 'Secrets of a Married Man'.

I bet he could be stretched a bit more, if he revealed a bit of himself, he could do it.

Nim was good in 'Woman called Golda'.

How about as two aged and lifelong friends, who've just discovered that they both have a terminal condition.
What would it be like to see their story as these two "brothers" face their mortality at the same time.
Not a "Bucket List" bittersweet comedy, but maybe a true character study of two men reflecting back on their failures and triumphs as their days grow shorter, together.
Getting to see two bud's share everything from their love of playing baseball to falling for the same girl to even sharing careers! After Rearing families together, now they get to "cash in" together. I'll bet these two actors would be comfortable enough with each other to bring a reality to that kind of story that could be oscar worthy. People can really underestimate the abilities of these two men... Jus' Sayin'

I don't know if they deserve an Oscar or an Emmy or a Whatsit-- the qualifications for individual awards are, to a certain degree, arbitrary and, to a great degree, political. But for their status as essential elements of true Americana-- and the Kel should be included along with the Shat and the Nim-- they without question deserve special recognition of some kind.

What would Emmy-and-Golden-Globe-winning actor William Shatner want with an oscar?

Don't sh!t the Shat.

Maybe an honorary Oscar or Emmy for their work. I'd love to see Chris Pine accept Shatner's award.

An Emmy? Sure. They both contributed greatly to television in many ways. Give 'em as many of those as you can come up with.

But I can't imagine what either of them would earn an Oscar for.
