Spoilers Orphan Black Season 4 Discussion

Wow, finally. She has been turning in Emmy winning performances since the show debuted. Finally, enough academy voters realized what we, and so many others, have known for a few years now; that Maszlany is one of the best actors working today,T.V. or movies.

Tatiana finally won her Emmy!!! :D :D
Shouldn't she get eleven? Tatiana made me appreciate acting.

Watching the show I learned I was blissfully ignorant of what an actor actually does. If Alison had been a character in another show, I have little doubt I would have called the acting mediocre. LOL. Alison may be Alison, but still LOL. Any moment such a stupid thing may be about to surface in mind (because let's face it – she is Alison), I realise I'm watching several women on screen who every part of me is convinced are different people and I feel like a total dummy. I try to unsuspend my disbelief, and that doesn't work. Alison dresses like Sarah and tries to emulate her, and it still doesn't work. All I can think of is “Alison is so bad as an impromptu actor. She's so obviously not Sarah. How can she be in theatre? S./Ferdinand will notice”.

No other actor has made me feel... so confused.

Now I second Christopher's motion – where's Kathryn Alexandre's award?

I watched the part of the show where Tatiana won her award on Hulu. I don't think the people in the room were too familiar with the show or the actor because her win got a rather subdued response. She had some stiff competition (Viola Davis is a superb actor), which makes her win even that much greater. It reminds me a bit of Bryan Cranston's first win for BB. I cannot imagine, nor have I seen a better performance by a female actor this past season, not that I've seen all of them.

IMO, the fact that Tatiana plays multiple parts is only a small pert of the magic she brings, the brilliance is the way she plays each character. You could take any one of her characters and drop them into another show and her portrayal of that character is still likely to stand out. Her fully realized and nuanced presentation of each of the character she plays stands on it's own. This is the way someone on an obscure BBC show beats out a Viola Davis.
