Orphan Black or Falling Skies?

I actually like Falling Skies, though it's kinda average and they keep reinventing it every year. I won't miss it when it's gone, I don't look forward to it before it starts but I like it while it's on.
Orphan Black is light years better though, featuring an acting master class from Maslany. Hopefully S3 will be on the BBC soon, I'm getting withdrawl symptoms from lack of Felix and Allison!

Taking a quick break from work to chime in:
Orphan Black is better by miles and miles. And it doesn't just appeal to a female audience. My husband LOVES Orphan Black, more than I do, for the intricate plotting and how well the "clone interaction" is handled from a technical perspective. I like it for the characters; it still catches me off-guard sometimes, how much I like one clone more than the other, and how can forget that they are all played by the same person.
Orphan Black is good right from the start and stays good. Falling Skies has some really good moments, but by the time you get to season 3, it starts sliding downhill at an alarming speed. Season 4 was fairly horrible. It still has good moments but that's all it has--a good MOMENT, here and there, instead a good season.

My opinion is probably not typical, since the show's a little outside my comfort zone in some ways, but I was kind of lukewarm on season 1, then really got invested in season 2. Maybe I was just getting more desensitized to the darker stuff, but it just seemed to click more in other ways. And there was some really warm and touching stuff too, which made me a lot more sympathetic to certain characters.
But I'd say, yeah, season 2 goes beyond season 1 in a lot of ways. It's more assured, it deepens the relationships, it builds lots of new stuff on what season 1 set up, and it goes to some pretty wild places. And yes, the clone interaction scenes go farther technically and continue to impress -- when you remember that they are special effects scenes, rather that just buying into the reality completely, as I often find myself doing. The coolest scene is in the second-season finale, and it's become a popular meme online, but I don't want to spoil it, just in case. Except... oh, well...
