Opinion on Possible Production Run Time

Not sure of production run time but as far as episode run time, I'd like to see a full hour since there will be only 13 episodes in the first season.

The filming is January to September, even if they film in order, and have episodes 1-3 for example done by the end of this month, post production will take quite a bit of time.

Since this is going out through streaming, they'll want to keep the releases close together, waiting until most of the episodes are finished.

So we could be looking at pretty late in this year before it airs, or January 2018, a year from the original stated date.

This could signify they are shooting for quality over quantity. Allot of the hbo series had similar timeframes and they were top notch. Heck, give them all the time they want. I really want this to be top notch.

Nine months does seem a bit too long for thirteen episodes. Doctor Who, only takes seven months to do twelve. Does one more really mean two extra months?

No idea, but they were originally going to film in November and air in January so maybe they'll air as they're producing, I just don't see that happening.

Still betting on a September airdate so it starts going out as the final half of the series is being post produced in the studio.

Due to the delays, they could be deliberately taking longer to accommodate commitments that actors and other resources have. They will now be shooting through spring, which is pilot season in Hollywood, so people may have been booked into that already. If Martin-Green is actually still on Walking Dead, she may have already been scheduled to do some stuff there starting in May, pushing things even further out... This is to say nothing of whatever feature films would be shooting at any time and place.

If Martin-Green is actually still on Walking Dead,
There's no "if" there. She is still on Walking Dead, at least up until the most recent episode back in December. I think you meant "if she's staying" which at this point is anyone's guess. But then, aside from Rick and Darryl (who are guaranteed to stay until the end) whether or not anyone's staying on that show is anyone's guess.

They're in between seasons of TWD filming right now. What I mean to say is that assuming she is actually still on the show (and not just saying she is to disguise her character's surely-gruesome death in the back half of the current season), she'd be back filming the next season in May.
