Open Letter to Kurtzman and Orci

I think Trekkies are good-naturedly portrayed by the media and I think they have a lot of things right -- we're passionate, we care about our beloved Trek. But what they don't know is we can't agree on what that Trek is. ;)

I liked the SNL shows on Trekdom.

I think Orci did a lot of things right and you're right, some big things wrong. I suspect he knows the plot was weak. Good thing the special effects and more made up for it. I, myself, became distracted.

Yo - if anyone important reads this...Khan, in this universe, is still out there, sleeping, floating in space.

And younger. Like Kirk.

Go get him. :)

I'm sure now that someone called alexofborg has weighed in with an open letter on the TrekBBS, the writers will sit up and take note.

Well. "Rear Admiral unimatrix7," what does a login name have to do with anything? Trolls like you make Trekkies/Trekkers (people actually care which? you mean that's not just a joke?) have the bad name they do. You seem to have a lot of self-hate issues, because my position is the same as yours, but you know what? I do think my opinions have value, whether they're ever read or not.

I think for the most part, the OP nailed it right on the head. For me the most enjoyable part of the film was being introduced to new versions of old friends. The rest of the movie I have to admit, felt like a lame Nemesis-Galaxy Quest rehash hybrid type thing. So yeah, I'm definitely concerned that they may not posses the ability to pull off something really stellar and original to compensate for the worn off 'new' novelty. The fact that I really do like this new crew, only increases the potential for disappointment. I guess time will tell.
