Along with my other project (Enterprise D Interiors) - I am creating a fan-fiction ship over the course of the next few months (maybe years?). It will have all major internal rooms constructed as well.
Here is the backstory.
In the alternate timeline discovered by the Enterprise, where borg have assimilated nearly the entire galaxy (TNG: Parallels), the federation had been nearly completely assimilated. Riker was captain of the Enterprise, one of the last holdout ships running from the borg.
Hidden deep in federation territory, a last-ditch effort was being devised to survive the inevitable. Built in secret, not even known to most of the fleet still fighting for their lives, the USS Emergence was launched in 2371. It's mission? Escape the galaxy and the borg. Destination? Andromeda.
The USS Emergence LHV 0001 (LHV stands for "Last Hope Vessel") was designed to sustain near max warp speeds for the duration of its mission - one that would take over 900 years. It would not arrive to Andromeda until the most recent events in Star Trek Discovery. It was created using a completely new and experimental warp drive system capable of producing more energy than it consumed. This form of energy was an important factor for the ship's incredible mission.
Its mission will find it completely alone in a black void with no stars and no planets. It will carry all that remains of the federation and humanity in that timeline - looking to start over in another galaxy.
Technical specs:
The two saucer sections can disengage from the main ship and each other and are capable of surface landing. The lower section of the ship, containing the warp core and engineering, is designed to maintain orbit and become a planetary defense system while the two colonies (saucers) begin the long and hard task of rebuilding humanity.
If you look on the VERY top, there is a person standing there to give the scale of the ship. The thick edge of each saucer is about 5 decks.
This is a WIP - the render below is about 5 hours of work.
While this vessel has a very non-traditional look - it acts as a colony ship, an intergalactic exploration vessel, an orbital space station, and planetary defense station.
