One Week to Go - What Are You Doing?

With less than a week to the 50th, do you have any plans? A viewing party? A lead-up?

Several friends are coming over to watch the 50th. And according to my DVR, BBC America is running it in an 80 minute timeslot. Looks like it will be extremely limited or no commericals!

Also, I'm marathoning classic and new Who up until the day. Mostly one serial per Doctor:

The Aztecs
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Mind of Evil
Terror of the Zygons
City of Death
The Caves of Androzani
The Spectre of Lanyon Moor
Remembrance of the Daleks
TV Movie
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
Vincent and the Doctor
The Doctor’s Wife
The Five Doctors
The Light at the End

(Couldn't pick just one Fourth Doctor serial, I like the BF Sixth Doctor audios better than any of his serials, and the Eleventh Doctor has better single episodes than two-parters.)

A while ago I would've tried to do something "appropriate" but from now until mid-Dec I'm snowed under at work and am half-working at night so it'll just be a single episode if I'm lucky.

Plus the stuff airing this week.

One Week to Go - What Are You Doing?

Well, that's a really thing personal thing to ask me without offering to buy me dinner first? Oh...Wait...It only feels like that, because my thoughts aren't pure :alienblush: NEVER MIND :alienblush:

I'm going through a Hartnell rewatch, including the recons, for the first time this time (Just finished The Web Planet, ready to start The Crusade

I'm not planning anything on the lead up, but on Monday the 25th I will be seeing it in theaters.

Already watched 'Trial of a Timelord' recently. Was thinking to watch the 'Brain of Morbius'. Will definitely watch 'The Name of the Doctor' before seeing it.

Besides that, have a coffee.

i've been rewatching various 4th and 5th Doctor episodes. i plan to sit down and watch a couple 1st Doctor stories i haven't seen yet. and i guess watch whatever BBC America is showing too.

I'm currently visiting London for the week. Yesterday I bought the 50th Anniversary Special Edition of the Doctor Who Magazine on my way to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff. While I'm not able to watch any episodes (I usually get back to my hotel after any of the broadcasts on BBC), I've been listening to as many Big Finish audio plays as I can, having already listened to "Prisoners of Fate, "The Girl Who Never Was," and "The Rosemariners ," this week. I'll conclude the week with the theatrical showing of "The Day of the Doctor."

I watched the Brain of Morbius yesterday which I bought after seeing the minisode and am watching the 50 years trailer about five times a day. Will make sure I am home on time on Thursday for An Adventure... and may try to squeeze in 1996 movie at some point.

Watched Three Doctors and Five Doctors yesterday.
Watched or about to watch every Doctor Revisited thingie being aired on BBC or Watch HD this week.

Will probably watch a 4th, 6th and 7th doctor serial this week too, since they weren't in Three Doctors/Five Doctors. The TV Movie, the Empty Child two parter, End of Time, and the Name of the Doctor are also lined up to be watched.

BBC Breakfast has just done a DW special filmed on set. Starts at about 5 minutes to 9 if it's available on watch again or rewind.

I'll see it quietly at home on the 23rd, then with 3 friends in the theater on the 25th. Hopefully the experience doesn't mirror when I saw Serenity and led to me wanting to strangle the Firefly geeks who were laughing too loudly at jokes they already knew were coming, and saying lines aloud before the actors said them on screen, as well as various screams and whoops. Worst theatre experience I ever had. I fear that this may be similar....

Other than that, I'll enjoy BBC America's programming.

I'm preparing to sleep more because the 50th anniversary world-wide simulcast will be happening at 3am in the morning over here.

Not doing much. Ever since the McGann minisode came out the other day, I've been watching random episodes here and there to get me back in the mood. I'm pretty pumped for the special, but I don't be able to watch it until Monday (in the theater, mind you, but still not until Monday).

Wake up around 4:30 Sunday, listen to The Light at the End (for the first time), watch the First Question 50th Anniversary fan trailer, The Night of the Doctor, any other minisode released this week, then at 6:50 am, The Day of the Doctor, live. Maybe go to the 3D cinema screening later in the day, too. Watch An Adventure in Space and Time in the evening on TV. Pretty big day.

Watching episodes that tie in to the time war going to the pictures to watch it.

Will be watching 7.13 this week in detail, then catching the Special when I can. My little girl's birthday party is on that same day, so that's a priority which sadly means I can't watch it when everyone else will be.
