One time guest stars on Trek ...

Vijay Amritraj, Indian tennis professional, as a starship captain stranded by the probe in TVH.

Regards

Jason Alexander Voyager episode Think Tank

I would argue he didn't go on to bigger and better things since it came after his run on Seinfeld. Good recall though.

I know that, it falls in the area of "did a Trek episode anyway".

Yeah, but, his career was DOA already when he did it. And has yet to recover. So it's not quite the same as if he did it while he was a "big star" or some such...

I always wonder what it would have been like of Robin Williams had actually played the role written for him in TNG, that of Prof. Rasmussen, the 22nd-century time traveler posing as a 26th century time traveler.

As I recall, the current King of Jordan appeared as an extra in an episode of Voyager. I don't remember which one though.

Some additional people from the "already well-known" or "had already reached/surpassed their pinnacle" categories:

Ed Begley, Jr. as Henry Starling

John Savage as Capt. Ransom

Technically, they're both two-time guest stars though. ;)

Do movies count (perhaps not, because then we'll find tons of actors)?

Christopher Plummer as Gen. Chang

Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Soran

F. Murray Abraham as Ru'afo

Winona Ryder as Amanda

Brad Dourif, "Lon Suder" on three VOY eps, did big things before and after. For the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. He's been in a million things, but my favorite is Grima Wormtongue in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Padma Lakshmi appeared in the "Precious Cargo" episode of Enterprise, now a host of Top Chef. She couldn't act in that episode, but she was terrific eye candy!

Not that he's particularly famous, but I was excited to see Michael Maguire turn up at Kes's dad in Voyager... he is a Broadway musical theatre star, most well known as Enjolras from Les Mis! :)

Ooh, one more! Jonathan Rhys Davies played Leonardo Da Vinci in Voyager... best known as the dwarf Gimli from Lord Of the Rings and Sallah in Indiana Jones!

Tom Morello from the rock bands Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave was a crewman in an episode of Voyager.

Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, had a cameo in an episode of Enterprise.

Femke from "Perfect Mate" episode of TNG

Then with Stewart in XMen

the actress that played t'pring was in a couple of columbo episodes
the chap who played khan was in one too i think he was in a series though all i remember is that it was something to do with a island ( i think it was fantasy island)

I totally agree, that guy really was a snake in LOTR, very well performed! I never knew that was the same guy! His eyes do remind me of my former math teacher. (I failed for maths. :guffaw:)

Same goes for Gimli, never knew it, wonderful!

Vic Tayback(TOS).............his "Piece of the Action" ended up being a diner in Arizona.
