One of the saddest things I've ever seen..

(Also, you may want to look up humor.)

Nah, I think it's you that needs to look that up.

 Yeah, leave it to Sidious to turn things around. Trekker, whatever you hear from this guy, be sure to take it with a grain of salt.

Do we really need to drag the "grain of salt" into every thread?

Then I shouldn't mention that I was naked? (It wasn't a hot tub, not to be pedantic, but it didn't have a heater built in it just jets to agitate the water. It did have some oils that I dumped into the the thing for some bubbles and for the promised soothing effects of the oil according to the bottle.)

I'm not even going to mention that those jacuzzis probably don't get fully drained and cleaned after every guest, there was probably water still in the jets from the last person to use it. Just something to think about. You're quite welcome.

Oh, this hotel room also had one of those shity, fairly standard in older hotels, climate-control wall units that's either on or it's off but you can't, like, set a temperature and have it maintain it like with a thermostat (where it'd cycle on and off) so I'd end up either freezing all night as it ran (and unable to sleep with the noise it made, as well as the nosie the mini-fridge made) or hot all night without any climate control and being under the covers.

Worse are the motion sensitive ones that are in many full service hotels that turn off at night because they sense no movement so it gets really hot or cold in the room depending on seasons.

Sigh. I hate hotels.

I actually miss staying in hotels and traveling. Hampton Inns are the bottom of the Hilton family food chain. Hilton Garden Inns are nice properties. I'd stay at one any chance I got.

So were you in Hays or is that too far west?

None of this really sounds that sad? I mean, not terrific, but not that bad.

I agree. Not sure what the problem was?

The saddest things I've ever seen have generally been in India. Things and people I will probably carry images of in my head for the rest of my life.

I found India to be a generally happy and peaceful country. Materially the majority may not be well off but I was struck with what a happy people (on average) they are. Hard working and a lot of hustle and bustle, but happy. At least that was my impression the several times I was there. I think their close ties to family and friends and religion helps.

I really like staying in Residence Inns when I'm traveling (for pleasure) I stay in them if I can.

I was in Manhattan.

Some things to keep in mind:

1. How many hillbillies have had sex with various other hillbillies in that hot tub?

2. The guy who stayed in that room the night before you probably busted a nut in that hot tub.

3. How interested do you think the cleaning lady was in getting it completely cleaned and sanitized the morning after #2?

Joe, cleanly

If you only had sex in that tub, this thread's title could have been One of the greatest thing I've ever done...

Seconded on the Hilton Garden Inns. I also stay there if I can.

My only problem with them is that I never want to get out of the bed. It's too damn comfortable.
