If those eight fans all suffer from multiple personality disorder, maybe you could get that number up around 25!

I liked all four TNG movies to various degrees and I don't want to see another TNG movie. We need something to revitalize the franchise and I think going back to iconic characters like Kirk and Spock is really the way to go.

I think it should have been kept in the 24th Century but an all new ship and crew. So, that other Trek characters could have cameos or be crew on the ship.
It's a really big ask to get people all nostalgic over a new ST movie when the only characters they will know are only making cameos. The TV spin-offs (TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT) were promising at least 22 episodes with their new casts.
Otherwise you may as well be making an all-new science fiction movie.

I'll tell you what. Get the script together, get a 2/3 majority of the people on this board to agree that it isn't stupid/forced/*insert deragatory remark I can't think of here*, get Patrick Stewart to agree to do it, and sure I'll watch it!
It's sad but the TNG movies have ended, and there is no need for another trek movie in the 24th century.
The last thing that we need is a movie that has every single man, woman, or child that ever appeared in the cast. While I would be fine with another TNG movie, and am actually excited for the coming TOS movie, neither of those are what I want. I want a DS9 (or at least a Dominion War) movie. I want an Enterprise movie. I would love a Romulan/ Earth War movie. Any of those would make great movies. Though, like I said, I will give anything with Star Trek in the title at least one try.
What made ST:TMP, ST IV and "First Contact" such box office successes was that ST fans wanted to pay to see them more than once. And they took their non-ST friends and family!
And if I'm impressed, I guarentee that I will be there a couple of times, and I will try to get my more open-minded friends in on the fun too. Maybe mentioning JJ Abrams will help with this latest movie...

What hurt the TNG movies was that they weren't really event hype movies. Only First Contact was a real event movie, but the others not so much.
A destructive energy ribbon in space, a Fountain of Eternal Youth planet and a planned invasion of Earth by Romulans and Remans. They are plenty eventful.

There is certainly room for another movie from them. The only reason the other movies were not as good as First Contact was poor scripts, its as simple s that. The acting was always good by this cast, the special effects good, musical scores etc. But the last 2 stories were lame, not the casts fault. I welcome another film with a solid story!
