one more TNG flick

TheDoctor

we all want one more TNG flick. if there is one, it needs to be the last cast reunion that NEM wasnt. i'm talkin regular, guest, and minor characters which include the following:
*picard, riker, and the rest of the main cast
*wesley crusher
*pulaski
*sela
*lxwanna troi
*ro
*barclay
*guinan
*and but not least Q, he'd make a great villian
+did i leave out any characters of this type

Who agrees with me on this?

So basically you want Lwaxana Troi on the ship along with the rest for some random reason and have them get stuck with some Romulan crisis caused by Q? It could be great but it's a little far fetched plus I'm guessing the actors who play Lwaxana, Q, Data and Pulaski are too old to really play the part for various reasons.

No thanks. Nemesis ended the TNG movies, whether it be a sour or bittersweet, the conclusion is up to you.

the TNG films slowly went down hill and Nemesis put the last nail in the coffin, they killed DATA (i hate him but really come on) atleats he could of died in a decent written movie? but no he died in nemesis:rommie:

I LOVE the TNG crew. All of 'em, even Wesley...

But they made four crappy movies in a row. They don't get another chance. The TNG characters and dynamic just weren't built for movies.

But in 20 years or so I would imagine we'll get a big budget, recast, reimagined version of TNG on the big screen. (don't hold your breath for DS9 or VOYAGER though...)

I think most fans would give another TNG movie a chance as long as it was good. THAT's what most fans want. Adding in cameos from rarerly (or frequently) seen guests and extras isn't enough to make a movie good. That's just gimmicking.
TWOK had fewer Trek actors than TMP, but it is considered by most as the best of the Trek films. Why? Because it's good. The same can be said of TVH, TUC, First Contact. IMHO.

Just speaking for myself, I'm tired of giving them a chance. In eight years, they made exactly one good movie. Two of the others are at least rewatchable though deeply flawed, and the final one is an out-and-out embarrassment. They've had their chances, and they couldn't pull it off. Time to step aside for a new group.

Well said, Sir Biggles -- Must agree with you there!

Cheers,

I'd prefer a DS9 movie... maybe with a couple more familiar faces.

ain't gonna happen though :(

24th century Trek as we know it is done. we may see more set in the 24th century, but it won't be with a crew or ship we know.

I dunno, there was so much negative word-of-mouth about "Insurrection" and "Nemesis" long before those movies came out. A lot of prejudging goes on these days. "Most fans" are not in agreement about what they want.

Fandom was hungry for ST:TMP. Parts of fandom was even hungrier for ST II, and then for ST III to bring back Spock. Fandom and most of their friends celebrated the cinema experience of ST IV. "First Contact" proved there was still room for a bit more.

Fandom was pushing away from the table, stuffed to the gills, by the time "Insurrection" tried to gain their attention.

Most people don't consider First Contact to be a "crappy movie". It seems that ever since Nemesis the In-thing is to say that all 4 TNG movies stunk even though First Contact was loved by fans and critics alike when it was released.

^It would be nice, but it is sadly something we can't guarantee. And based on their other movie outings, odds are that the attempt would prove to be another failure.

I am aware that most people like First Contact. I, however, have disliked it pretty much from the beginning. From the horny Borg Queen to John McClane-Picard, to Worf's insipid "Assimilate this" quip I find very little to like about this movie.

Okay, maybe I should have said "Eight fans woulld give another TNG movie a chance as long as it was good...";)
