'One More Day' falls in your lap...

Yeah, but I do have admit their relationship has gotten sort of stale over the years, partially because they can never get her into a role that compliments Spidey. And fuck the 'aging' thing, by this time it should have been his KID wearing the suit and Pete and MJ retired in Florida with the Lizard! LOL But I think Spider-Man's character does need to grow up or at least to a point. I guess my mind keeps going back to the old Maximum Carnage storyline, and Pete was fighting the good fight, rallying troops and showing some pretty advanced tactical thinking, befitting his years of experience. I mean are they ever going to address the fact that he should be at least in his 30s by now and doing this for like 15 years? He's been active (if you go by origin years) longer than Iron Man and the Avengers. Even in the Ultimate U, he's been active longer than the Ultimates have been around.

Now Ultimate MJ I like far better than 616 MJ to be honest, I think maybe in time she could sort of develop into his Oracle like Babs Gordon is to Batman. She's an intelligent and while not genius level like Pete, she can hold her own. I could really see her as acting like Spider-Man's partner (even if she's not wearing a costume) behind the scenes on the other end of a radio.

Now in 616 the closest Spidey has ever had to that was the Black Cat. Granted she wasn't the 'good girl' but so what! Plus she's hotter than all getout, imagine if they were to marry off Spidey and Black Cat (or at least shack up) make a big to do out of it all, you'd see her cleavage everywhere! Plus, she's a rather interesting character in that she's on the 'good' side, but can still drift when it suits her. Fun tension, plus the married life parts of the story wouldn't be so dull. I can only remember a handful of times when her part of the story had her doing anything that put her on equal footing with Spider-Man and not ending with her needing to be saved or looking out a window worrying or arguing with Pete.

Spider-Man needs more than a hot fuck buddy he needs a parter in every sense of the word. In the field, at home, just period. Even if he's a fugitive, he's got another fugitive right there beside him. He may not be 'happy' but he's content.

If they think MJ is so boring, why don't they just give her super powers? Wouldn't that spice things up?

MJ had the advantage of keeping Spidey grounded. He was always the normal guy who just happened to be a superhero. Pairing him up with someone like the Black Cat loses that.

I agree, Black Cat is the 'wrong choice that seems right' for Peter. He needs a normal girl. Gwen Stacy was probably his destiny, but as in the case of real-life tragedies and missed opportunities, MJ is his 'new destiny.'

Yeah that's kinda funny, so on the one hand she's this famous actress, super model poster girl. I'm thinking probably akin to ANY of the hasbeen soap actresses/models that have been on Dancing With the Stars. And... she's married to Peter Parker, a guy that is WELL RESPECTED in the Superhero community as Spider-Man, but in real life he's a fuckin' nerd that is lucky if he can get two nickels in his pocket to rub together? And she's his destiny? Oh bull.

Gwen COULD have been, but I dunno from all the Gwen stuff I read she was... I dunno same league as the current MJ really, old MJ was the floozy, she was the sophisticate, now both would be pretty much equal. Black Cat could be both, and with her detective agency both she and Peter could be kept in the black. Sure they could struggle together of course, but how many "oh crap the rent is late and I have $1 in my pocket and I'm already running low on webbing and my costume is torn!" stories do we need? I mean really! Most of the later 60s, all of the 70s and the 80s was that. 90s it started to swing up slightly, at least MJ was finally acting and modelling and making some money not just being the pretty thing in expensive clothes while Peter can barely keep his costume in one piece.

Can you tell I'm a dyed in the wool Peter/Felicia shipper? I was ever since I read the old Marvel Tales reprints. Cat was always cooler.
