One Little Ship... you thoughts?

Hadn't seen it in a few years. Excellent all around episode. Even though it involved the Dominion, it had a nice break from the usual S6 DS9 feel. The acting was excellent all around, especially from the second. You had to feel bad for the guy when the first just wouldn't listen to him about Sisko plotting against them, :D
The runabout firing torpedoes at the Jem-Hadar was great as well.
The best part of the ep. by far was the end segment in Quark's when Worf makes up a poem to Jadzia... "There once was a little ship...that took... a little trip.".... Jadzia: "There's nothing on this pad!"
And don't forget Odo and Quark's joke about Miles and Julian being a few centimeters shorter. They were totally freaked out, and Odo's grunting laugh was classic.

What are your thoughts on the episode?

it was a quite good episode but could have worked better with a Harry Mudd type baddie, which the writers intended at one point...

That episode was awesome. The Jemmy conflicts were classic. Extremely fascinating stuff.

Way better than rehashing a Harry Mudd character woulda been. I didn't know they had considered doing that, but I'm glad they didn't go with that. :techman:

Only thing that coulda been better about this episode was if they stopped using that dud Vorta actor whom they used a few times instead of Combs or the Keevan actor who perform the Vorta role immaculately; which then makes it painful to try to tolerate the dud Vorta actor on-screen instead of them.

I always enjoyed the episode and did feel somewhat bad for the Jem'Hadar bred in the Gamma Quadrant. He was on it from the beginning and knew exactly what was going on, but the First wouldn't listen to a single thing he said.

Maybe this means that the Alpha Quadrant Jem'Hadar were discontinued and they went back to the original Gamma Quadrant template. They were never mentioned again.

This has always been a favorite of mine. I liked that it had a lighter feel to it, but still had plenty of action. And as said above, that Jem first was a real tool!!!:p

They had someone with great knowledge of Starfleet's war plans, and one of Starfleet's most advanced warships and they messed it right up because they didn't listen to the far more experienced Second. I'd call that a failed experiment.

The Memory Alpha Article suggests that the Pakleds were considered instead of the Jem'Hadar.

How bad would that have made the Dominion look not to mention the Defiant's crew?

How bad would that debriefing have been? They would have still be laughing at Sisko in WYLB.

I liked it. Its one of those classic DS9 episodes, not excellent (IPML or Die is CAst) but really good.

The best part was when Chief and Bashir was in the console tryin' to find the correct doo dad.

Good FX and love the part where Dax waves a (big) Worf from inside the runabout.

Yeah not exactly serious science fiction, but fun nontheless. I guess the equivalent TNG episode would be "Rascals".

I thought it was a very good episode.

Great SFX and the dialogue between Bashir, O'Brien and Dax was funny.

Y'know, with a group of intelligent ants or a Jem Ha'Dar soldier having a pair of tweezers, this could easily have been the best "O'Brien Must Suffer" episode of all.

Yeah, I liked it. Some people seem to rate it as one of the worst...

There is no way that "One Little Ship" can be ranked up there with "Profit and Lace" or "Move Along Home".

In defence of Move Along Home, no other episode had a song about Allamerain :p Catchy stuff

You, sir, are charged with that most heinous of crimes - defending "Move Along Home". Guards! Take him away!

Ranks right up there with Little Green Men for fun. Adventure on the small side because we've all daydreamed about what it would be like to be a fly on the wall, or voyage into the bloodstream of the human body, etc. A good story and FX.
