Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

I have tried sticking with this show but it is just too boring. By the time LOST ended I had my fill of flashbacks, non linear storytelling and dragging out the mysteries--not counting all its emulators like The Event, FlashForward etc so this show had a hill to climb to really draw me in but it is just waaaay too boring and predictable.
The characters are bland(except Henry and sometimes Queen), the flashbacks are predictable with no surprises rarely infusing the present stories with any interesting insight amounting mostly to filler subplots, the present storylines aren't compelling or urgent, the death of Graham was lazy and emotionally hollow, the romance on the show just doesn't make me care one way or the other. LOST might have ended up amounting to nothing but twists and WTF cliffhangers but OUAT can't even summon that. I'm done. It just doesn't hold my attention despite two strong first hours--in that regard it reminds me of Voyager--strong start downhill from there.

I know the Evil Queen is evil and all that but damn...she's hot. 
My favorite line tonight was when EQ was watching Snow with the dwarves and she said someting like "Since when has she been consorting with dwarves?".

I haven't watched Sunday's episode yet, but I'm still a bit bummed over what happened to the Sheriff/The Huntsman in, "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter".

I kind of assumed it was Rumpelstiltskin's son. So far the only people who've been seen to leave and enter the town are those who were protected from the curse (Emma) or their offspring (Henry). Aside from Regina and Emma, the only other person who seems to have been somewhat protected from it is Rumpelstiltskin.
That's my main guess anyway. The runner-up is the roguish Jack.
I can't wait to see the giant.
At first I assumed motorcycle guy was Henry's father, which would have made for an awkward moment. Rumple's son is a good guess. If he's an outsider, he can't be just any character.

I noticed that, too. I mean, KA-ZAR THE SAVAGE?
Wouldn't it have been easier to just run down the local comic shop and buy some new comics to dress the set, instead of some old back issues?
(Still not as bad, though, as the M*A*S*H episode in which Radar is shown reading an issue of THE AVENGERS--back during the Korean War!)
I dunno, I've been to a few drugstores that never seem to get rid of their old comics.

That's 27 years, maybe 28 depending on where the months are...

Storybrooke is in a time loop of sorts and have been ever for as long as Emma has been alive and she's 28 years old.
Great episode and I really liked the fact that Emma went "Scully" to Henry's "Mulder". She still won't believe, but, she's starting to accept, makes it more believable to me, rather than complete denial. And I like that she went to Mr. Gold and paid upon delivery with tolerance

I'm getting so I like the fairytale side of the story a lot more than the real-world side, which is getting tedious. We need some movement on that story, wherever it's going.
I forgot that Eion Bailey was cast in this show. I wonder who he's supposed to be.

New guy is a writer? On TV and movies, being a writer is like being a God, some sort of compensation thing going on there, I suppose. On the principle that Prospero has the book, my guess is that new guy is going to have Powers. The hint (or red herring) is that he wrote Henry's book. The plot is moving in Storybrooke, it's just that the fantasy doesn't blend with the soap.

I was so caught up in the Fairy Tale bits that I forgot that Emma was supposed to be figuring out what the mystery man is up to.
The writer hinted that he had been there before. I doubt that Regina would just now become aware of his presence if that was the case.
I wonder what Glass/The Mirror is going to reveal?

He certainly was nimble at avoiding answering any questions, and he was pretty quick with the wit. There was a rather nice candlestick on his table at the diner, too. And what was the name of that famous American writer who did a lot of traveling back in the 50s?
I can't think of any other 'storybook' character who got around a lot. Well, there was that guy with the beanstalk who proved to be a pretty crafty thief, and wasn't there someone with the same name that did some giant killing, and who liked to pull plums out of pies, and who had a penchant for tumbling down hills, and a few other things I can't recall off the top of my head? Hmm.
