Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

The Queen had a proice on Snow wites head.

She made the wanted poster.

Or are ou suggesting a glamour that she's playing both characters?

Even though they were side by side in the modern world.

So when the sister said that they didn't knwo who made the spell.

We're thinking that it's Rumplestiltskin?

Which is why it's gone out of control and blanked her as well?

Does the Mayor know that she is the Queen?

okay here's a curious question.

Is there a timeloop? I know that that's usually science fiction, but has Emma always been the Mayor's Grandmother?

Something I'm wondering: are the characters confined only to that small town? If Emma can drive freely into Storybrooke like it's any other town, does that mean the residents are free to leave as well? And go on a roadtrip to NY or Vegas or something?

I think that might be kind of cool, to see these fairytale characters interacting more with the outside world at some point.

I know that Cinderella is a different character, but it would be fun if the blonde who thinks she's married to Prince Charming turns out to be Cinderella, who after all is supposed to be married to Prince Charming. :rommie:

Oh wait, I got it. She's Sleeping Beauty. Also married to Prince Charming. This could turn into a Big Love spinoff. Ginnifer Goodwin will feel right at home.

that's a good question. Reminds me of the set-up in the movie "the truman show," when Truman was always dissuaded from leaving town and when he tried to anyway, the bus out of town would break down or something.

The kink in that is they don't think of themselves as "fairytale" characters. So I'm not sure if their interactions would be any different that anyone else.

Well they don't think of themselves as fairytale characters, but we don't know if they consider themselves to be everyday, Starbucks-drinking and Wal-Mart shopping Americans either (I don't recall hearing any modern day pop culture references so far).

The curse might have them in some kind of in-between state where they just appear to be regular people, living in some strange Twilight Zone-style town.

I have to say, the fairlytale characters rattling off Americanisms (in American accents no less) does seem a bit off to me. Other than that though I'm loving it so far, glad to see that not every writer out there thinks a family show would have adorable children for no apparent reason and teen angst to keep everyone interested.

I read in at least one or two interview's that the Mayor does know she's The Queen. There have already been several hints throughout the episodes, the big one being the confrontation between "Regina" and "Mr. Gold" in the second episode.

I actually find it a relief that they're not aping British accents (or German? I associate that more strongly with fairy tales) because that can come off as gratingly phony.

They'd need to have American accents in the real-world scenes and to change their accents for the fairytale scenes would just call attention to itself. If it helps, pretend they're talking some other language that's being translated for our benefit (whatever language they speak in fairytale land.)

I wonder if they'll ever explain how or why the curse functioned the way it did. Did it transform the existing fairytale world around them, or just deposit these characters into our world somehow? Or will the writers try to suggest the fairytale world is the REAL one, and ours is the fake?

Or, more likely, am I just completely overthinking all this? :D

Rumpelstiltskin does switch accents between worlds, I think. Or maybe that's just the manic acting compared to how restrained Mr Gold is that's making me think that.

I don't think it's accent so much, as the crazy voice he uses for Rumplestiltskin.

I've been hearing an Irish accent from him in both realities...?

And everyone is actually a fairytale character, all over the world? :D Heh heh, I like that.

I dibs Rapunzel from Tangled!!! :p

And when the Huntsman finally shows up in fairytale land, he'll have an English accent because I think it's pretty obvious who the sheriff will turn out to be. ;)

Heard that Belle is going to show up at some point too, so I guess that means there will be a Beast as well.

Man, I'm really going to have to start boning up on my Disney movies if this keeps up. lol
