Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

I think August as Piniocchio theory is buoyed by his actions. (But of course, until this last ep I was convinced he was Bae.)

He referred to Rumples as "Papa," but is that really lying? He was just using another name for Rumple (in a sense).

As an earlier poster pointed out, if he is Pinocchio, his statements to the Blue Fairy in Storybrooke would still hold up. We know that Gepetto is in town. He was seen working as a janitor in the jail, and I could swear that he also had another scene with Archie in Storybrooke in Archie's flasback ep. Therefore, Booth could be in town to see his father.

There was a donkey sitting on his desk next to the typewriter.

Plus, in his convo with Gold he was stating facts. He then let Rumple mentally fill in the blanks and see what Gold wanted to see.

So, if Booth is Pinn, that means that two of the fairtytale characters know who they really are - Pinnocchio and the Mad Hatter/Jefferson.

Emma seems to trust Booth. He may be the kick in the pants she needs to begin to believe. If she does then begin to believe, even just a little, would that be enough to save Pinn?

From what we saw with Jefferson, if Emma allows herself to believe, even if for a second, magical things can happen in Maine.

But Giancarlo Esposito is cast in another show for this fall
The buzz on that show has been a bit muted - it might not make the cut on NBC. Too bad if it doesn't, Esposito really deserves a more dynamic, kick-ass role than he's given in this show. Watching him play a lovelorn wuss is like watching a thoroughbred hitched to a plow.

There's the out that will let Bae stab Rumples with the magic knife and take the power onto himself - maybe simply because that's the only way to save his father? We don't know Bae is a villain...

Kristin over at E! the other day in her daily spoiler chat said there is a SUPER MAJOR MAIN CHARACTER death coming to Once Upon A Time in the final 3 episodes, so major she says she doesn't see how the death would be able to "stick" so maybe that leades some credence to the promo they continue to show of Emma swording a tied up Regina with the town watching.

If "stick" was the word used in the spoiler, I would assume it's August/Pinocchio who is headed for a pine box.

But, if it's in quotes like that, it may be the someone "sticks" Mr. Gold with the Knife bearing Rumplestiltskin's name

August isn't important enough for his death to be "unbelievable." Regina, Rumples, Emma, Snow, Charming and Henry are the only ones whose death would make me think, "they're gonna find a way to take that back." Everyone else is fair game.

I quoted stick because that was her word directly and she meant it in the context that she didn't see how that death could be permanents ala the characters Temis mentioned

I really liked this episode. Gold/Rumple is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. When the show started I never believed that he would actually end up being a somewhat sympathetic character. I'm can definitely see the rumored identity of August, hopefully it'll be confirmed before the season ends. Can't wait to see where all of this is headed.

If August turns out to be Pinocchio, then yes, I'd agree that he doesn't seem to be a major enough character for his death to be described as "unbelievable".
I'm guessing it's Charming/David who's going to get killed. They have to do something big with him to get him and Snow White/Mary Margaret back together.

I would bet it will follow the fairytale. Mary Margaret will "die" and David will find a way to bring her back.

True loves kiss is not ongoing to work unless they leave earth and make their way to a magical world.

You know like how Jack Slaughter was going to die in the real world, in last Action hero, but in the movie world he was just a girl with a flesh wound.

Pinocchio shows up in the real world just in time to see the Oceanaic plane with Richard, Kate and Sawyer arrive home.

It was great seeing the always fab Tony A, but last night felt a little paint by the numbers.

And the Blue Fairy is working my nerves.

I had just assumed that Booth had somehow come through in the tree, and was a little underwhelmed by the reveal.

How many times can Em declare the people around her crazy until she begins to wonder if she is the one living the "fantasy"?

Glad to see that MM is not backing down.

Is Booth talking to Bae on the phone, and is Bae Henry's father are the next two big questions for me.

Seeing Booth head into G's work shop was heart warming though....

Maybe Archie is going to bite the dust for supporting Emma in the custody battle? That is pure spec on my part, but the Cricket is not getting much face time.

Interesting that Emma was unable to see Booth's wooden leg. That definitely explains why she continues to be so skeptical (although I'm not sure how a guy with a wooden leg is suddenly supposed to make her start believing in fairy tales).

I don't really buy that it's simply her "denial" that's hiding the truth from her though. More likely it's a function of the curse (or a function of living in an unmagical world) that outsiders cannot see anything fairy tale.

Although I'm sure like in any good fairy tale, if she believes "hard enough", she'll eventually be able to see it. Lol

Emma is turning into the "Scully" archetype, where even when she's presented with all this weird stuff that should make her question her beliefs, she still plays the stubborn skeptic.
