Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

Not to mention the fact that Morrison doesn't even look remotely related to the actors playing her parents. lol

Family casting is often tricky. But I've a feeling resemblance to other actors isn't a high priority when casting a show featuring families.

It's kinda curious to me how often this show is relying on CGI backgrounds for the fairytale scenes. Obviously it's understandable why some of that would have to be, but even the Queen's castle chamber (which we see a lot of, and which doesn't look all that terribly huge)? Or the rocky ground during Charming's battle with the big warrior? Or the floor... in pretty much every room?

There are a lot of cases where it seems like it would be a LOT more practical and cost effective to simply build the freakin set. Or a portion of it at least.

Didn't Henry mention that he had torn key pages out of his book to keep Regina from finding out about Emma?

Yes, he did. And then he and Emma burned them, just to make sure. I think the pages concerned the building of the "tree-teleporter" and that Emma was placed in it.
Actually: Does Regina/Evil Queen even know that Snow White has a daughter?

Apparently the producers disagree with you.

Folks here don't think Morrison looks like Ginnifer Goodwin? I thought there was a reasonable resemblance - big eyes, small nose, both moonfaced - Morrison is just blonde, like dad, that's all. I can buy it.

Morrison's son doesn't look anything like her, though. I'm wondering if Dad was Rumpelstilkskin. :rommie:

Goodwin and Morrison have similar jawlines too. Maybe if Morrison has bigger ears? ;)

I agree, same shape face, when Emma first appeared on screen, I was thinking it was cool they gave Snow White Blonde hair in the Real World, and then realized it wasn't Snow

My brother doesn't look like my parents at all, or me. Doesn't mean he isn't their kid. Morrison doesn't have to look like Goodwin - in fact if she did we'd have to increase suspension of disbelief that Regina didn't catch on. She's blonde - well so is the guy who plays Charming. We don't know what Charming's dad looked like; for all we know he could have been a dead ringer for Jennifer Morrison (except for the bit about being a girl).

I'm not concerned about CGI. This is supposed to be a fairyland. And it's better handled than V's was. Now if they start CG'ing Storybrook scenery instead of using Steveston and Vancouver as they have done, then let's talk.

And, of course, we still don't know who Henry's father was, so who knows where Henry got his looks from.

Well the storytelling is strong enough that I can live with the sometimes shakey CGI. I was just wondering why they relied on it for as much as they did.

Although I suspect it's not so much that they couldn't afford some of those sets, as they wanted to make them all look as consistent as possible (if the Queen walked from a physical set into a much larger CG set, it would probably stand out a lot more than it does).

is the modern world real?

or is it just a backdrop to make these peoples lives hell?

The real world is the fairy tale land and places like New York is just something the spell infers exists.

You know the Queen could do over the curse to ake these peoepl that they're living anywhere or anywhen...

What about a Luna Colony?

Point taken. I hesitated to use "Real World"
