OMG! A date night is expensive!!!

Everything is too fucking expensive now days. Hell, at this rate, it won't be long before the middle class is priced right out of existence.

When the hell did this happen? I remember when I was 17 I'd take a girl out on a date I'd spend like 25-30 bucks and we'd have a blast. Tonight I took my wife out for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and blew $100 like it was nothing!

Be glad you're married.

I took this one girl out who said, "I'm mostly vegetarian." Then she proceeded to order a $20 T-bone steak. Yeah, and then she proceeded to tell me about how she was in hiding from the government and had been abducted by aliens who gave her psychic abilities and super fast healing abilities.

:wtf:

She's either a drunk, a dug addict, or a fruticake.

Or all three.

$100 bucks for a decent date sounds about right. How much you go over just depends on the average entree price of the restaurant you go to. On the bright side, once you get to know people you get to do stuff at home.

At one of our local family restaurants (mid range), entrees average round $10, mains around $25- $28 (seafood a bit more), desserts around $8. So that's around $43-$45 pp before drinks, after dinner coffee or extras like garlic or herb breads.

This is why I wait for movies to come out on DVD and get them for $1 at Redbox, and a "night out" with the girlfriend consists of grocery shopping for the essentials and going home to play Modern Warfare 2. :)

Oh Grasshopper, you have much to learn and a long way to go. :)

That's pretty funny as our little girl just had her first taste of swimming in a real lake and everything today. She's got puppy hop/paddling down well.

And loved being soaked to the core.

What's her name?

Esme, she's named after one of the witches from Discworld NOT that vampire glitter book.

Esme and Helena must have been separated at birth.

I'm pretty psyched for my vacation this June. We're visiting all the maritime Canadian provinces. We've dubbed it "Take Labrador to Labrador."

How so? It's been working quite well for over a year now and we're both perfectly happy with it. At least until we both get our careers going and are making real money.

Playing a computer game on a date night? I must be old.

Well in an effort to save money, instead of a night out at a club spending a lot on cover charges and drinks, we opt to digitally murder one another on a screen. Which is free. More than 90% of the time she is the one pestering me to play.

^ Maybe Modern Warfare 2 is a euphemism or something? :D

Let's just say that after we play, there is a different sort of "call of duty". :)
