Omega IV & Independence Day

I always thought TOS should have done a parallel planet episode with Disco music devotees versus Heavy Metal fanatics.

Maybe we could have gotten this as an episode of Phase II.

Honestly, I think this was the first episode I ever saw, in the 80s, and the twist ending is what made it memorable and made you think and wonder what was going on. The mysteriousness of it all was definitely a draw to young-me. The same was true of the Alternative Factor - they might be bad episodes, they stand out, and have intriguing concepts. From the same, young time period, other (cartoons) that really stood out to young-me, were the parallel evil universe on Super Friends, and the Flood episode of Ulysses 31. Guess I've always been a sucker for time travel, parallel universes, etc.

Maybe "already". Hodgkin's Law first/only appeared in Episode Bread And Circuses, either after Omega Glory by airdate, but before by production order.
Such a thing was postulated in the 2nd pilot version of "The Omega Glory" where Spock names it as "Hodgeson's law of planetary evolution," so it goes back to almost the beginning.

Yeah. It was the only way to plan for a show they could afford to film.
