Omega Directive - A better ending?

Kick The Donkey

Ensign
Newbie
I just got through watching The Omega Directive again. And it got me thinking... Would that have been better ending to Voyager? They could have stretched it to two hours by adding the fact that the Borg found the molecule too.

Large fight scene, plus the climax of Seven figuring out how to harness the Omega molecule to allow Voyager make the final journey home.

Any thoughts?

Hmm... the Borg in the finale... I'm not sure.

I will say this though: NO TIME TRAVEL.

It's got my vote ;)

The Borg and Omega would have made an interesting finale.

I would have preferred no time travel myself in the finale, but the Borg were a must. ;)

It's too doomsday. It would either have to destroy the Borg or the Federation.

I really liked the episode for what it was, not what it could have been.

Seven's epiphany scene with Janeway on the holodeck should have been followed by the two of them having sex. ;)

Ah right, thanks for clearing that up ;)

It's good that the birth control methods won't just disappear as soon as they leave the holodeck, cos you don't know what havoc those nanoprobes can get up to...

Although, there's the post-series telemovie right there - Janeway gives birth to Seven's Borgbaby or a circuit board or something like that. It'll be Star Trek's unique look at children raised by same-sex parents.

It was very clear that Janeway had no choice but to destroy the molecule, just the fact that all the bridge displays suddenly displayed the Omega symbol testifies to the fact how seriously the Federation took the threat. Kathrine really had no other options at the time, she really could not take Seven's solution, even if she wanted to.

Resistance is Futile
