Do you think any of the crew of the Enterprise sat around on the rec deck or whatever on the Enterprise-E and said: "Y'know...back on the Enterprise-D we used to have incredible adventures almost every week! Now, since we got this new ship...it's like something cool happens only about every 2 years! Sheesh! I miss the old days!"

This doesn't ring entirely true if you take the novels into accoun, though.

Geordi: That's right! And you came up with the vaccine for a hideous virus we brought back from some planet that would have killed the whole crew every other month.

Crusher: This new ship must be pretty special. Even when we have our mission every two years, there's never any medical or engineering problem that requires more than a two-word technobabble statment.

Picard: "Remember when Will and Deanna were here? And, of course, there was Worf. His courage was sorely missed during the Borg invasion and the Briar Patch crisis."
Worf: "Sir?"
Picard: "I only hope Chancellor Martok is as grateful for his noble..."
Worf: "Sir, I'm here. Remember? I took up my old security officer job."
Picard: "Huh? Why?"
Worf: "I don't know."

Riker: Remember when our uniforms were bright? And uncomfortable? And when Q used to bug us?

Picard: Those were the days. Does anyone remember... Doctor Pulaski?

Picard: Does anybody remember those cool stripes we used to have on the shoulders of our uniforms? Those were the good old days, back when the "Picard Maneuver" was still fresh, and it felt like we were race cars with pinstripes!

Everyone else thinks: Irumodic Syndrome must be kicking in a bit early.

It seems like only yesterday that Geordi had a visor that use to get us blown up or assassinated or something. Who says engineers can't be stupid?
